You were there to share our joy when we received our letters of acceptance. And you were there to lift us out of the depths of depression when we discovered that nurses ' training wasn ' t quite what we expected it to be. You listened patiently to our glowing accounts of first injections and completed projects. You were there to offer support when care plans brought despair. Many were the times you gave us confi- dence and courage to go on. We haven ' t forgotten the little things you ' ve done. You helped us move our belongings to and from the residence five times. You supported our class by buying items which we sold as money-making projects. And occasionally you slipped home- made cookies into our suitcases! We want to apologize for the times when our patience wore thin and our tempers flared. We were and are grateful for all you ' ve done. And now, as we move our belongings from the residence for the last time, as we close our books and accept our stripes we pause to dedicate our yearbook to you. May this dedication in some small way repay you for the love and support you have shared so freely. Lovingly, Your Student Nurse

REACHING TOWARD OUR CELEBRATION ) the days I thought Could never end are gone. All the days that seemed so far away have passed. All the loves I thought would last forever have died. So many happy moments are now happy memories, But . . . I still have tomorrows filled with the hope of things to come. And although I watch the sunset now, I know it will rise again. Unknown

Recognition We, the class of 1982, recognize what an important role you, our housemothers, play here at WHSN. Your cheery smiles welcomed us at the desk so many times. We ' ve joked and laughed with you and for these times we are truly grate- ful. Then there were the times when nobody else would listen and you were there to care, listen patiently and lovingly of- fer us a bit of hope. We always felt relieved after sharing our burdens with you and shedding some tears. On the other hand, when you were feeling down — these times were rather rare — we felt honored to share your griefs and pains. Remember all the secrets we shared? Remember the times we were so happy and excited that it took us an hour to change our pegs because we were so busy telling you the latest news? Remember the times we couldn ' t stand to study one more minute and we would invariably show up at the desk for a chat? We will remember those moments because it is partially these close relationships that made the struggle bearable and worthwhile. It takes a special, talented person to be a mother-away-from-home, but if we were asked to make a list of capable can- didates, five names would appear at the top of our list: Mrs. C., ' 1 Mrs. B., Minnie , Judy, and Helen.
