Mental Attitudes Through both counselors and course selections, the students are provided with many of the tools they need for learning and living successfully. They are also stimulated to have much more intellectual curi- osity and to make further use of libraries, reference materials and other information which will help them to adapt to the demands of college work. The teachers also try to overcome in the students their dependence on others by making them think things out for themselves. The main goal, therefore, for which Williannsport High School is particularly aiming, is to develop in its students the mental ability to direct their lives toward what is best for them as individuals. ,,. l Carol Koch finds that her classroom assignment requires intense concentration. This goal is attempted by the faculty, especially guidance coun- selors and deans, and through the wide variety of curricula offered. The desired courses may be selected from the following programs of study: academic, general, business, technical and vocational. The advisers may be particularly helpful in direct- ing the students in their selection of courses and activities which will affect their futures.
