PAUL E WITMEYER Slzpmzazfclzdelzf 0 Salaools HE BOARD OF EDUCATION is elected by the citizens of the City of Williamsport to administer the affairs of the Public Schools They are primarlly responsible for collecting the necessary monies to pay for their operation to elect properly qualified personnel and to adopt such educational policies which will constantly keep our schools functioning ei'Hc1ently for the best interests of our boys and girls of Education These men serving without salary devote a great deal of time to this civic duty The members of the Board consider it a privilege to serve the young people in Williamsport because they realize that the train ing and education which is received in a school system is of vital importance in developing good c1t1zens for Williamsport and our county as a whole The Members of the Board and the Superintendent extend to each member of the graduating class of 1947 best wishes and hopes for a successful and profitable career PAUL E WITMEYER 17 3 The Superintendent is the administrative officer of the Board T 5
