As Iboardeda trainfor Chicago, I recalled that Ronnie Stricklandis president of thel.O.U. Railroad and the former Barbara Manus is his private secretary. Upon my arrival in Chicago, I called up the wealthy Joyce Weidenhammer, who has obtained her wealth with her creation of Stay Slim dresses, which make you look pounds thinner. Employed in the Weidenhammer mansion was the former Pauline Greer, who was talking of getting a patent on the automatic strawberry-seeder she had invented. Joyce took me to a style show in an exclusive clothing store where we saw the former Janice Jones modeling French bathing suits. We learned, after the show, that the former Doris Flynn is her hairdresser and she was planning her fourth marriage which was to follow the divorce of her third husband. That evening we attended a burlesque show where we saw the former Rose Marion Smiley, the first short-haired burlesque dancer. The next day, as I was leaving, my attention was drawn to a sign at an old ladies' home which read, Men's day-Sunday-We urge all bachelors to attend. I investigated and found Miss Anita Bell was the head supervisor of the home. I heard a familiar giggling noise and turned to see Shirley Tate and Sarah Kennedy looking at the pictures of 2 bachelors who had called on them the revious Sunday. Anita told me that they just lived for their Sundays. Next, I boardedaa bus on which I noticed the driver talking to the girls seated behind him. I looked again and discovered him to be the woman hater of my high school class, Lawrence Wesley. The bus stopped for lunch at a lovely diner called, Sipes' Soup, Salad, and Sandwich Shop. There we enioyed a lovely dinner prepared by Norma and Normand Sipes. As we continued on our way, we passed a huge dairy farm owned by Dick Watkins. stopped to call on Dick and met his five sons who have a basketball team of their own. My next experience was the witnessing of an accident in which the former Janet Hensley ran into a tree in an attempt to keep from running over a bug crossing the pavement. She was sent to the hospital with a broken finger and I went there to see her. In this hospital, I ran into the former Virginia DeMotte who is the head supervisor. She took me into the physical therapist ward, where I saw the former Glenna Weaver. Sharon Freeland had heard of my presence and came in from the laboratory where she had been doing some X-ray work. After a while, I told the girls that I had to be on my way as I was going to attend the premiere of John Butler as a hill bi I ly comedian . I discovered that the former Shirley Cartwright was in the show with him as the RED HEAD, During intermission of this hilarious show, I saw Lewis Ritter in the lobby. Lewis told me that he had invented the left-handed flash-light and had made enough money to live on a penthouse. On my way back home, I stopped near Smelly Valley at the skunk ranch of Walter Barnhart. Bob House was his deodorizing foreman and the two had progressed quite well in the skunk business. I didn't want to be rude, but I iust couldn't stay very long, so I went to a bakery to smell the delicious pastries. Who owned the bakery, but the former Barbara Crowder and Barbara Hurd. They advertise that you had BETTER BUY BARBARAS' BETTER BREAD and it applies quite well to their delicacies. I saw no more of my old classmates until I got back to Lafayette, and there I visited the former Kay Hensley who is now married to a truck driver and has one child. My bus took my to Attica where I met the former Margaret Johnson in the drugstore buying comic books for her husband who worked in Attica. From my conversation with Margaret, I discovered that JimJacks and Lloyd Wilson are on missions to Russia and Africa, respectively. Having been in Williamsport's new school building only 2 or 3 times, I went to look the place over before going home to my family. There had been several changes since m grad- uation at Bingy. Now, Judy Lambert is teachin a small first-grade class of 65 pupils. The commerce room has 100 electric ty ewriters, ant? Miss Sims has been succeeded by the former Shirty French. I started to enter the principal 's office and was almost knocked down by the boy o was leaving. I found out later that he is the son of my old sponsor, Mr. McKinney, and quite frequently is seen in the principal's office. And who not? The Principal is the former Margaret Anderson and she looks like she did when she was in high school. Now that I had seen or heard from all of my old classmates, I went back to my family and was quite happy to see them, after having been gone so long.
