Q Class Prophec The other day as I was racing down the stairs to my literature class I happened to slip andfall . Everything wentblack, and then it seemed as if I were floating on a huge, soft cloud. I looked down and saw that I was over W.H.S. Parked in front of the building were strange models of cars. I noticed one in particular. It was astrange yellow color and a woman was sitting at the wheel. I took a second look, and saw that it was one of my classmates, June Cox. Suddenly I noticed that my cloud was drifting down toearth, and landed right beside June's car. Afterexchanging greetings she mentioned that she was waiting for herchildren. I asked her what model car she had and she told me it was the latest super-duper i965 model--given to her by her husband, who is also WilIiamsport's richest farmer, Richard Johnson. Then lrealized that I was in the future. I looked toward the entrance of the school . lt was the same , although the building had grown. Adistinguished looking man coming from the building looked very famil- iar to me . Then it dawned on me that this was none other than Bill Willett who was now principal of the school. He was very excited and told me that Jim Flood, who had been experimenting with his atomic rocket, had been iniured badly when it crashed. But I was glad to find out that he was slowly being nursed back tohealth by Dr. Eugene Newton and his nurse, who is alsohis sister-in-law, the former Frances Watkins. Then my cloud began to float again and I was in the downtown district of Wi I Iiams- port. There was a iewelry store run by Gary Zenor, whose motto was Our rings are a dead 'Ringer' for cupid. A little farther down the street I noticed a very large building. The sign over the door read Bullington's Freckle Remover, and I knew right then that Garland Bullington and Kay Hildenbrand must have gone into busi- ness. I stopped in to talk to Garland and Kay and they told me that I should visit Joan Ringer who is now a famous lawyer but at the moment is interested in her side- line of manufacturing fluorescent collar buttons. Of course I had to see Joan and she told me a great deal about dear old Bingy. Williamsport was really a boom town now. Don Synesael had become a millionaire from peddling his famous product Synesael Scrumptious Sauerkraut. Being anxious to learn about other classmates, I pried Joan with questions about them. She told me that .lim Mclntosh has a large harem in Arabiag and that Merridy Crumleyis re- turning to Congress for her fourth term as Senator from Indiana. Mr. Pribble's govern- ment class helped her a great deal. Margie Bridgewater is her personal secretary. Again my cloud started to drift--this time to the office of the Mayor. There was Sherman Pasley, who at the moment was trying to make his secretary, Marian Chambers, realize that it isn't necessary to sit on her employer's lap. Down on the main street, I metFreeman Wallace, the new minister of the Pres- byterian Church. He was accompanied by Mack Mc Kinzie and Bob Folk who said they had just returned from Mercury where they had started a modeling agency. From them I learned that Leroy Arnold had just become the heavy-weight champion of the universe . I Charles Slauter was now publishing the local newspaper and at the moment was running an ad for Gordon Banning and his Bashful Barefoot Butchers , who were starting up a new line of shops on the coast. Other business men who were running ads were Jackiedacks and Dan Parkinson who were advertising, respectively, Jacks' Casting Company , and Parkinson's Palatial Parking Palace . Charles told me that our. old friends Arlene Kell and Carroll Thompson were operating Kell's Kozy Kitchen in Washington,D.C. , and were employing Cynthia Masters, Lois Trott and Velma Turnpaugh as entertainers. It seems that their trio was receiving much praise from the social set of Washington. Unexpectedlymycloud began to rise andl iust had time to jump on the tail end. The next thing I knew we were at a very large ranch in Nevada. Honeymooning here were Gary Goodwine and his wife. He had become very wealthy since his high school days. I found out that this ranch was owned by none other than Don Miles and his wife, the former Luree Keown. Working for them were two big, husky cowhands, Bob Rolan and Richard Kincade. Don told me that Bill .laynes and Wayne Haddock were in Kansas at the present. Bill was the owner of a large factory entitled Jaynes Jointed Toothpick Corporation , and Wayne wasa successful wheat farmer. lt is rumored that they had been rivals for the hand of the famous movie star, Beverly House, butnow their feud was settled. All of a sudden my cloud seemed to dissolve and l found myself sitting at the bottom of the steps surrounded by my classmates. When it became apparent that I would live, I went on to my class. But one question entered my mind--What was to become of me? And somehow I just got the feeling thatl was going to be a writer of Fairy Tales--l wonder why? Carla Bever 5l We fi 2 di: O 1 if 0 5 L ?
