CLASS HISTORY In 1948, 30 of us entered the first grade, with Mrs. Helen Counts as teacher. Reed Anderson, Eddie Ater, Io Hunsinger, David Humphrey, David Myers, Dale Miner, and Connie Stonerock are the students who have been here all twelve years. In the second grade, Miss Twila West was our teacher. Miss Helen West was our third grade teacher. By this time school was no longer a novelty. We then moved upstairs to the fourth grade with Mrs. Helen Chenoweth as teacher. This year many of us started to take instrument lessons for the band. Miss Betty Babb was our fifth grade teacher. Our teacher in the sixth grade was Mrs. Bernice Hulse. I believe we will all remember the sixth grade for the many paddlings received. This was the year our boys started to play basketball. We were all quite proud of them. In the seventh grade, Mr. Miller was our teacher. Mrs. Mary Gearhart was our eighth grade teacher. Whenever we think of the eighth grade, we remember the hours of study that we spent preparing for the eighth grade test. It was well rewarded because we took first place in the county and we had nine in the upper 2596 of the county. After the test, we toured Adena and the histor- ical.museum in Chillicothe. This year our junior high ball team placed second in the county. Our eighth grade commencement was one which we will appreciate and remember for a long time. In 1956, we entered high school as freshmen - - underclassmen. Dale Minor was president this year. Mr. Chester again was our home room teacher. Sue Frazier was our president. Our class party was at the home of Jo Hunsinger where we grilled hamburgers and then danced the rest of the evening. As juniors, with home room teacher Mr. Pond, we really felt big. Jo Hunsinger was our pres- ident this year. Many important events took place. We sold concessions at ball games, had many bake sales, a skating party, made an annual, and worked on other money-making projects. We gave our class play, This Thing Called Love. We believe we had one of the nicest junior-senior banquets, our theme was Hawaiian. I believe the thing we remember most about our junior-senior was the scratching of the gym floor and each of us crawling over it trying to wipe it off. Tom Barnes was our president for the senior year. Mr. Pond and Mr. Chester fit took twop were our home room teachers this year. We worked very hard for our trip. We had fifteen boys and five girls. With practically all of our boys on the ball team, we placed second in the county. We also sponsored a homecoming with Lynda Hosler queen. This year Mr. Bricker took us to Col- umbus where we visited the State Office Building, the State Capitol, and the Federal Building. We visited Dupont again this year. All of us appreciate the graduation gifts given us by several of the stores. Our valedictorian is Io Hunsingerg our salutatorian is Reed Anderson. We are anticipating a wonderful time on our senior trip to Washington D. C. and New York. We are all a bit reluctant to leave our old alma mater, but we are looking forward to a bright future. Io Hunsinger
