In the eighth grade our class was made larger bv consolida tion of boro and township schools We served our apprenticeship in selling magazines, so that we were well prepared for our senior vear On the last day of school we visited Natkins Glen our ambition finally came truel We were now freshmen in high school With the help of Mr Brockway we planned a recreation center in the I O O F Hall every Saturday night It was very successful and was much enjoyed by all who attended At Hallowe'en we took the bus to Elmira and saw a spooky movie Just before school was out we were informed that we would go to ioga to school next year to become part of a ne: jo'nt school svste le diin' like he idea at alllllll The last day of school we SUPHC all of our money at Vldridge Park TIOGA CLASS HISTORY At last we had made the grade and could leave elementarv school for high school! It took us a long time to get used to so manv teach ers and we're sure it took them just as long to get used to us! We missed our recesses at first, and the hour long classes seemed more like two hours On the last day of our seventh grade we all wanted to zo to Vliridge Park because the upper classmen were going, but the teachers said we were too voungl When the Big Flood came it settled the question, and nobody went In the eighth grade we all dreaded the examinations, but with the help of our teachers we managed to at least squeeze through This was the year Barbara Wood cut her long tresses, whether it was an improvement or not is a matter of opinion The two class functions we remember most were the skating party at Mansfield, and the hot dog roast at Mr. Downs'. ---anciifo D--G' Qq!IIIl!IIIIIIIIIII'!? I , I ., . 0 ClA55 HISTORY CONTINUE D During our year in ninth grade Mr Butler and Mrs Glenwright e ped the high school put on the operetta Sunbonnet Sue in which most of us had a part It turned out to be a big success When we heard that Lawrenceville and Millerton were coming th next year, we d1dn't know whether we would like the idea or not but we looked forward to starting tenth grade arfvar WILLIAMSON CLASS HISTORY Tenth Grade In the tenth grade Millerton, Lawrenceville, and Tioga were joined to form Williamson High School Most of us were determined not t like it, but after a while we decided to make the most of it We bothered Mrs Butler very much by shooting airplanes in the class rooms Consequently we were called the worst class in the school We didn't want to be left at school the day the junior and sen ore went on their picnic to Enfield Glen so the teachers promised us a picnic to Camp Evergreen The girls had quite a time keeping up with the boys, but after all we had fun even played baseball the end of the year we were looking forward to coming back for our junior year Eleventh Grade At the beginning of this year we found that there would be more work to do than last year We ordered our class rings in Octoh r and waited patiently C J until December, and then were very proud to show them around especially to the envious sophomores With Mrs Butler as our sponsor, we put on the three act play, Granddad Steps Out' All of it would be hard to forget especially Don Treat's wheel chair and Pete Glover's big cigar The main attraction this year was the Junior Senior picnic at Watkins Glen Many of us found out that it is quite a trick to row a 'Three C ame Home Of course the seniors had to have our help at Baccalaureate and Commencement but we really enjoyed decorating for them, and realized that maybe we would be seniors sometimel We really hated to see the Seniors leave ard we began to think more seriously about assu ing the responsibilities of Seniorhood Twelfth Grade The twenty six seniors began their last year realizing that some thing had to be done to our emaciated treasury Our good work in the magazine sales Won HS the the Crowell Collier trophv for lOOZ partici pat1on,and very high per capita sales later we really enjoyed carrying around from house to house our big box of greeting card samples cleared a neat sum on this project too We had quite a time planning our banquets for different organ zations, but if anyone d1dn't know how to wash dishes before, he cert tainly does now Our play, nThe Cannibal Queen , was packed full of laughs, pillows and grease paint but we enjoyed it most when the money came rolling Of course we had the same intention that every senior class has to get the yearbook done early, but as every other class we waited until the last minute to do it If it hadn't been for the co operation of the teachers it probably still would not be fini hed CWe here give the Juniors this warning ACT ON YOUR EARLY INTFNTIONSU Our last week of school kept us busy with Baccalaureate Junior Senior picnic, Alu ni barquet, Class Day, and Com encement On June 4 while the rest of the school was sweating it out over studies, Seniors were having a wonderful time in Nashington e--aaexwzv--1 h 1 V -I , I1 H, A Q ' j . o , . -- , .
