iYe liuished this grade under the supervision ot' Miss Powell, who followed us to the eighth grade where we were joined by Helena Ti anson and Eldon Jones. Of the thirty who entered the first grade together, thirteen ot' ns hegan our high sehool eareer at the same time. .Xt this time the names of VVanda Mishaeli, Amy Flanagan, Ui-len James, Yernard liriseoll, Erina. llavis, tiesina Koester, Marvel Winslow. t'lell Wilson, Evelyn Gilmore, Mahel Faas and VVillia'n Vililliains were added to our elass roll. VVe liked to think that as a elass we were 2' shade less green than the average t'reslnnen Glass. We spent mueh lvl' our valuahle time matehing pennies, ehewing gum and giggling at the most trivial things. But also after the manner ol' all freshmen. the mere presenee ot' a teaeher enveloped us in profound silenee and left us tremhling in agony. Near the elose ot' the year, we lost Edna Hagan, liillian l.ewis, lrving Shames, Evelyn Gilmore and Lionel llakes, who was the 'l'reshman jester. Hy the time we were Sophoinores we had lost some ol' our green- ness. and were soon ready to take up the arduous duties ot' the Juniors. When we entered upon our Junior year our ranks had heen thinned hy the loss ol' l.aurine Uooney. l'aul 'l'eomey, Anna liriseoll ami one of our nn st loved elassmates, Mervin Simmons. .Xs Juniors, part of the elass began preparations to enahle them to enter the teaehing profession. ln the spring ot' the year we lahored long and diligently preparing for the Junior-Senior hampiet. Un that eventful evening, arrayed in our gala attire we felt tllat we had nearly reaehed our goal. .Xt the end of this year we lost one ol' our veteran elass mates, Lettie Ehnisen. Wlieii we entered as Seniors, Farl Noe, from the .Xmana Foeiety, was added to our list. Now. as dignilied Seniors we look haek upon the trials and trili' ulations ot' our liigh Sehool days as very trivial, hut at the time they were real indeed. 'l'hat the 1'l'1llil0lllN ol' life may lie es easily solved as lhose ot' our sehool days is the earnest lu pe ol' the elass ol' iii . -Geraldine O'llonnell. IT
