During the first week of practice, the gymnasium couldn't be used because the floor had been scrubbed and given two coats of seal Drying hadn't taken place as fast as it was expected Initial workouts were held outside and the time was put to good use by getting the masium and three weeks of hard work followed At this time the squad was hit hard by an epidemic of atheletes foot and three junior boys missed the first three weeks of practice Another junior boy developed an infection in his leg and was lost for about six weeks. At last the big night was here, and the 'Dogs' looked ahead What did they notice? They opened against the biggest schools on their schedule Clearsprings, always a tough team, inflicted our first loss on opening night Two nights later Shoals sent th 'Dogs' down by ll points On the following Friday night we found a victory over Odon and that wmxld certainly give us confidence for our next week's game with Huron It did too much in fact the Beavers whittled us down by the score of 29 30 Smarting fro this defeat, the 'Dogs' went on to play some good and bad ball, but, nevertheless they cultivated a string of seven victories be fore Oolitic dropped them in the County Tournament Our record at present time is 9 wins and 5 losses for our regular schedule have 2 games left and both of them are going to be tough ones. Our roster is somewhat smaller now than it was at the start of the season Three players have dropped out and another has be come ineligible All in all it has been a pretty good year, and The 'Dogs' will still be fighting when the season comeeto a close 42 'D 1 ..g 2 ' .9 boys legs' and lung capacity built up. Finally we got in the gym- ' . e ' !
