PT! an W., seg-fsgfve, 'Ref as H-we l.,,s,.,f .+-532.2212-a-.. eff-N TOURING W H S The broad front walk leadlng to the modern brick school building is one that is and will be traveled by thousands of children from the surrounding community Each day as the double doors under the imposing archway are opened the children tread the stairs to their respectlve class rooms Just inside the door there IS a small hallway which is bordered on the left by a stairway going up to the regular classrooms library and principal s office and on the right by a stairway which leads to the basement In your mind s eye pretend you are a visitor to good old W H S andl as your guide shall attempt to give a description and the location of inter estxng surroundings We enter the building together and decide to follow the right hand stairway and explore the basement The smooth expensive looking asphalt floors the cream colored tile walls and modern ceilings are an impressive scene to you who have never been inside our beautiful school building You are impressed by the lights which are placed so they reflect no glare but gnve a soft light enhancing the beauty of the halls and rooms and yet provide sufficient lighting for study The stairs are wide and low enough to afford comfort and safety in climbing or descending As we descend the stairs we notice the sturdy xronhandraxl which offers another safety point To our left is the Science room which is as yet not too well equipped. The main fixtures are there though. As the room is located in the basement there are half windows which give plenty offresh air. The same excellent type of indirect lighting is used all over theubuilding. We leave the room and enter the adjoining hall on the right. A water fountain is there and then we glance into the Girls Rest Room conveniently located on the right side of the hall lt is well equipped with showers and other modern facilities. The swinging door is closed and we continue our tour, At the end of the hallway we find the Home Economics Room. The at- tractive room is divided into a Food Preparation Center and a Sewing and Studying Center. As we leave be sure to notice the roomy cupboards located in a small hall which leads from the Home Economics room into the adjoining kitchen where food used in the school cafeteria is prepared. The Gas and Electric Stoves plenty of cupboard and working space is found. Continued on next page
