Twenty twoexcited Freshmen walked 1nto thernw cherished halls of Williams H1gh School in 1950 They were Marlys Anderson, Sherman Arends, Vernon Behrens, Darlene Clark, Donald Crilly, Willlam Duden, Frieda Greufe, John Hames, Maxine Hoefer, Dorothy Holdgrafer, Chester Hoversten, James Hundahl, David Inks, Carrol Knickerbocker, Curtis Lekwa, David Mark, Daryl Minard, Diane Rlcke, Elsie Roe, William Schutt, and Axel Wibholm We soon elected class officers as follows, President Elsie Roe, Vice President Chester Hoversten, Secretary, Mar lya Anderson, Treasurer Curtis Lekwa Our class sponsor was Edward Hemenway During theyear we lost three classmates Darlene Clark, Daryl Minard, and Frieda Greufe, who moved to Milo, Iowa Several Members were active in sports Bill Duden was basketball manager Elsie Roe and Frieda Greufe received basketball letters Several were awarded junior high basket ball letters At the FFGSDMHHQSOPDOMOPB hunt we found only one group of Sophomores and therefore we were forced to dish out the treats At the Sophomore Party, Elsie Roe and Daryl Minard were our candidates for King and Queen The Ledges at Boone was the site of our class picnic We started the Sophomore year w1th n1neteen members We lost Curtis Lekwa who attended school in Minneapolis, but The class officers were electeu as follows, Presldent David Inks,Vice President, David Mark, Secretary Elsie Roe Treasurer Rosemary Crilly Our class sponsor was Mrs Ludlum Sophomores who served at thedunior Senior banquet were Marlys Anderson, Rosemary Crilly, Elsie Roe, Diane Ricke, Sherman Arends, John Hames, David Inks, and David ark Those receiving basketball letters were Elsie Roe Mar lys Anderson, Diane Ricks, Rosemary Crllly and David Inks Baseball letters were awarded to Bill Duden, David Inks, Sherman Arends, and John Hames We put on a party for the high school this year Games and square dancing made up the entertalnment We won our hunt th1s year w1th the freshmen only suc ceeding in finding one group Later ln the year we Journeyed to Dolliver Park at Fort Dodge for our class picnlc In the fall of l952,we became upperclassmen with eight een members Karla Holst moved back to Ames but Curtis Lekwa rejoined the class Two new members, Ardean Evans and Royal Johnson, enrolled at the beginning of the second semester making us twenty strong LINCOLN 5 MEHUURY FARMER'S CO OPERATIVE ELEVATOR Webster City, Iowa 3la1rsburg, Iowa Q5 gained Karla Holst who moved to our community from Ames.
