CLASS HISTORY Twenty nme green Freshmen enrolled in the Williams High School in 1945 They were Joan Baumann Millard Barz Eva Jean Blue, Wayne Boss Dean Bryan Mildred Bryan Shirley Burke Jo Ann Buzzetti Lawrence Cheyne Eulalie Claude Betty Doyle Jack Foster Arlon Frizzell Carroll Hansel Evelyn Howe Roy Isvick Donna Mae Jaynes Norman Johnson Betty Karakel Eldon Kennetz Dena Meyermg John Mmard Virgil Olson Beverly Ratzke John Schutt, Pat Uthe, Gene Vulgamott, Shirley Ann Williams and Wendell Yates Beverly Ratzke received a letter in basketball, and Wendell Yates received a let ter in baseball Pat Uthe received a manager s letter Our officers were President Beverly Ratzke Vice President Joan Baumann Secretary Wayne Boss, and Jack Foster, and Treasurer, Lawrence Cheyne Miss Grazis was the Class Sponsor When we were Freshmen we had the opportunity of visitmg the Eldora Training School We were shown through all the amusement buildings and workshops New students in the Sophomore year were Marjorie Hanson, Jean and Joan Walterman and Shirley Lee Williams We lost Eva Jean Blue Wayne Boss Shirley Burke Jack Foster Arlon Frizzell Roy Isv1ck Donna Mae Jaynes John Mmard John Schutt and Wendell Yates Pupils who received basketball honors this year were Joan Baumann Jo Ann Buzzetti, Marjorie Hanson and Beverly Ratzke Lawrence Cheyne was the only boy to receive an award in baseball Cheyne Norman Johnson Virgil Olson and Gene Vulgamott served at the banquet for the Seniors of 47 The class officers were President Jo Ann Buzzetti Vice Pre-smdent Joan Baumann Secretary Marjorie Hanson and Treasurer Gene Vulgamott Mrs Charles Lovin WHS the Class Sponsor ln the Sophomore year we sent food reading material and games to the Eldora T raining School The Junior year started with twenty three pupils enrolled We gained Jack Foster The class officers were President Joan Baumann, Vice President Shirley Lee Williams, Secretary Betty Doyle, and Treasurer, Marjorie Hanson Mrs Lyle Mlchener was the Class Sponsor The Junior Senior Banquet this year, which was held in the Methodist Parlor was formal and was planned around the theme Moonlight and Roses Basketball honors were presented to the following people Joan Baumann Lawrence Cheyne Marjorie Hanson, Virgil Olson Beverly Ratzke Gene Vulgamott and Shirley Lee Williams Baseball honors were presented to the followmg boys Millard Barz Lawrence Cheyne and Virgil Olson There were seventeen out of twenty three pupils who received forty words per mm ute typing pins Two members, Betty Kafakel and Beverly Ratzke, received their fifty words per minute pins The name of the Junior Class Play was A Little Honey under the direction of Mrs Charles Lovin 15 Joan Baumann, Jo Ann Buzzetti, Betty Doyle, Shirley Lee Williams, Lawrence . . . , I .
