B t ilHi The annual staff at Williams has a special difficulty in doing our book that is shared by no other school in the state. Cheerleaders chant it . . . “WHS IS THE BEST!” The athletes prove it . . . just last year we were number one in the state in two sports and captured conference championships in several oth¬ ers. The student body . . . we know it. The annual staff must try to sum it up in the yearbook. What makes Williams High School the best? We think it’s the people. Every individual has something special to give. Without the people, we wouldn’t be state champions. Without the people, we wouldn’t have clubs — and we have outstanding clubs and organi¬ zations here at Williams. We know we’re the best. . . so here’s to the people because they’re why! — A.H. Club banners boost spirit! Lisa Lattimer and Juwanna Jack- son decide on a catchy saying to grab attention. 0 Teachers are important people at WHS. He usually oper¬ ates a TV camera or VTR, but now Mr. Ray Johnson is just relaxing. A sixth period geometry class does not dampen Lee Laws’ friendly candid camera smile. These bank robbers speak French with American accents — William Pruitt and Robert Boyle in Madame Majette’s third period class. Three minute timed writings in typing class call for three minute breaks — Beth Braxton. Todd Fowler, president of the student body, backed by the states number one 3A team, welcomes everyone to the first pep rally of the 1981 football season. «■ id - 18 Seniors . . . 8 — Group picture 10 — Superlatives 218 — Senior Statistics 122 — Top Ten . . . 33-Candids Underclassmen 34 — Juniors 42 — Sophomores 50 — Freshman 34 64 Teachers’ Pets 58 — Faculty and Cover Staff ... 198 — Coaches 144 — Dedication % S Jb ’ Musicians 66 — Band 74 — Orchestra 76 — Choral Groups 66 82 Clubs 82 — Athletic 84 — Service 90 — Academic 98 — Vocational
