The mathematics department at Williams is designed to meet the needs of students on diverse levels. General Mathe- matics provides the fundamentals for non-college bound stu- dents. Algebra I builds a solid foundation for the more ad- vanced math courses, with Algebra II and plane geometry ful- filling the entrance requirements for college-bound students. Trigonometry (Math IV) and Math V (a pre-calculus course) qualify some students for advanced college placement and en- able others to meet rigid entrance requirements in the varied fields of engineering.
