The Ability to: Communicate Is Essential +h ; “The finest words in the world are only vain sounds bg if you cannot comprehend them.”—Anatole France After his first English class at W.H.S., each student realizes that he is about to run an obstacle course of nouns, verbs, and Shakespeare. The ef- fective use of communication skills promotes per- sonal growth, and an ability to re-evaluate child- hood beliefs. Depending upon an individual’s interest and ability, he may undertake an accelerated, an en- riched, or an average English course. Courses in advanced composition and world literature are available to the student who wishes to develop his skills in these areas. Also, through a course in speech, students may improve their communication techniques.
