2 dedication He's known as Boss around the Theatre Department. He teaches a business he knows - theatre - and he teaches it from the vantage point of experience. With a BFA from Texas Christian University and an MFA from Baylor University, Christian West is a member ofthe United States Institute of Theatre Technology, Speech Commu- nication Association, American Theatre Association, and Alpha Psi Omega. He was named an Outstanding Young Man of America for 1976 and his other honors include a place in the 1978 edition of Men ofAchievement. Behind the scenes Mr. West has acted as stage manager, lighting designer and technical director for touring shows such as Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, and Hal Holbrook. On stage he has acted in over twenty shows including maior and minor roles. A teacher as well as an author and professional man, Mr. West in his thirteen years as a member of the faculty of William Woods College C1974 to the present as Chairman of the Speech and Theatre Arts Depart- mentl has turned out more than sixty-five quality college theatre productions, one of which received a runner-up position in Region six of the American College Theatre Festival nationwide competition in 1974. As director Mr. West has given thirteen years of brilliant theatre production to William Woods and as a teacher he has given thir- .teen years of his knowledge and experience to his students. 4 opening I remember sitting in my English class thinking about how hard it would be to go away to college and how much I would miss all of my High school friends. I kept thinking: I will meet many new friends and I will learn to love them, too. Now, though I've only been at the Woods for two weeks, I have met many new people and I accept them as my friends.
