'i As I sit in the room l stare at the blank walls. Just a few days ago they held the whole history of our year. The good times, the painful ones, the mistakes we made our emotions. All down and packed away. There will be new memories hung next year. New arrangements, new roommates, new experiences. l sit and think of the previous owners. Even the nail holes represent memories. The beds - who slept there? What did they think about on that bed? Did they cry over lost loves? Were they happy? This room, this one which now absorbs my feelings Holds a mysterious past. Its all-knowing, all-hearing walls are like great annals of history. Oh, if only walls could talk. The stories we should hear. It looks quite empty now. Just another room to future occupants. Seeing friends, cheery voices heart-warming smiles make me happy give me a feeling of being wanted. ldon't see all my friends all the time, and it is best, because my closest friends are the people I see the least during the day. lt doesn't disturb me, because it's not that you never see your friends it's that you see iust enough of them to make you happy but not sick of them. lt pleases me to have friends like this. They aren't forgotten, ever not even if they forget me. Sally Wright
