The first time you entered the gates of William Woods College you felt the spirit of all the classes that had gone before you. During your two years here that spirit grew and became a part of your experiences. On Commencement Day, when you pass through those gates as a graduate, you carry in your heart the memories and the friendships of your life here at the Woods, but you will leave behind the spirit of your class embedded in everything you, as seniors, have done. , Remember, Seniors, the way you felt the first day back at school . . . the happiness in your heart as you met old friends . . . the way you felt when you walked into a senior dorm and knew that this was to be your new home? But above the stirring and entertaining show was the crowning oi our queens. This year's Beauty Queen was Mary Helen Paul. Her blue-blaclc hair, sparkly brown eyes, and fair slcin coupled with poise and an ability to wear clothes strikingly, attained for her the title of our Beauty Queen. Her beauty attendants were Nancy Schnitzius and Joan Sommers. A warm personality, big, darlc eyes, a piquant face and a Flair for wearing clothes characterized Katie Severson, our Popularity Queen. A certain vivacious- ness and that big, shining smile were traits of Katie that always let you lcnow when she was around. An outstanding ability both in leadership and grades gained for l'lelen Day the honor of being both our Academic Queen and Service Queen. President oi our Student government and an indefatigable worl4er lor the good of the school and lor others made l-lelen a natural choice for Service Queen. With the highest scholastic average of the school, l-lelen also rightly deserved the title of Academic Queen, A sparlcling personality, a rare sense of humor, and a crazy way of doing things have made Wilma Murrow our ideal Girl, Willie possessed a talent for doing just about everything-she was just about everything. Sharon Browning was our Town Queen this year, Living in town didn't pre- vent Sharon from knowing everybody on campus, an easy job with her friendliness. Sharon wasn't thought of merely as a town girl, but as one of us who lived on campus.
