This search for wisdom is never an easy task, and it involves many heartbreaks and disappointments for even the best student.. Wisdom is not as many think merely the acquisition of a body oi facts, dates, and Figures. It means much more than that. The really educated girl is one who not only knows what she should answer in Qrganic Chemistry butwho also can get along with people. She may not be a great athlete, but while par- ticipating in a modern dance class or in the aciuacade, she does her best. She may not understand all of the works of Brahms or Chopin, but she enjoys Dr. Meldrumis concerts. She probably doesn't even know the handsomest student at Westminster, but she has the ability to make her date feel that he is her dream man. While many schools take care oi the academic side oi college lite, many forget entirely the other side oi the picture. We who have attended William Woods College know what it means to have searched for the complete education. ln our reach upward lor knowledge we not only have acquired from the classroom the best any school can otler, but we also have learned much oi the great practical i l F 'th eo le respecting the opinions of others and recognizing the demo knowledgeo ie, associating wi p p , , - cratic rights of each individual. .J4o!miniAfra fion Mrs. LeBeau's campus communications .... PRESIDENT DR. HARLIE I.. SMITH Every girl vvho comes to the William Woods campus has the definite assurance of malcing one true and lasting friendship, that oi our college president, Dr. l-larlie l.. Smith. l'le has talcen a personal interest in every student's problems and could always be counted on For helpful advice and counsel. Through his serving on national councils and his great interest in current attairs, President Smith has been able to bring to the students a closer and clearer picture oi the world situation today. Each girl vvill tal4e vvith her from college a iond memory of the sincere and democratic man vvho has been its president For the last eight years.
