l 60V RN N6 L'0l!lVC l Why go to college? Why choose a Bible college? Why specifically Detroit Bible College? These are questions not unfamiliar to many a freshman midway through his first semester, some seniors midway through their last semester are still searching. Many find no satisfying answer to the first question after starting, and leave: some to return later to a college, some never to return. But for those who stay in college, the second question still remains. And for several, no satisfying answer is found and they, too, leave: a few to go to a secular campus, a few never to return to school at all. And yet, some stay. For these is left the third question. Why, indeed, specifically Detroit Bible College? Here again, we find those who don't find a satisfying answer and eventually leave. But again, some do stay. For many of these, convenience of location is critical. For others,a family background in the same institution is strategic. For still others, perhaps coinci- dent with some of the preceding reasons is also an abiding sense of a deep con- viction that God wants me at DBC. Of such is the mainstream of the DBC student body: an individual who feels the real need of broad academic prepara- tion beyond high school to cope with the complexities of his society, an indivi- dual who wants that academic preparation based on, centered around, and per- meated by the Word of God, and an individual convinced that God has raised up this institution in this community specifically to provide that Christ-centered academic preparation that he seeks. God has not changed. He is the same God who led Abraham's servant to Rebecca for Isaac, the same God who led Paul to Macedonia through a dream, and is indeed the same yesterday, today, and forever tHeb. 13:83.
