TRU DEVHO MHV7 Often, when we think of development our thoughts are confined to buildings and land. However, there is another type of development which is perhaps even more important. This is the development of people to help to meet the needs of a lost and dying world. As we look around the Detroit area alone, we also should be moved with compassion. As we view our training at DBC as a beginning to a life-long ministry and realize our tremendous responsibility to the world around us, we gain our perspective. Remember, DBC is not a group of buildings. We are DBC. l l 106

Life will take on a new dimension for those of you who are graduating from DBC. For the past four years it has been your privilege to study the Word of God and to prepare yourself to serve the Lord. You have learned many lessons both in and out of the classroom. Now you have the opportunity to put into practice the things you have learned. Your life and the lives of those around you will be affected by your experience. lt is my sincere prayer that God will send you forth toaccomplish His will in a definite way. The road ahead will not be an easy one as we are living in difficult days. All around you will see the results of unrest, crime, war, hatred and rebellion. lt will be necessary for you to be equipped with the whole armor of God and to be proficient in handling the Word of God. You should go forth with a spirit of optimism because the promise from Scripture is that God always leads us in triumph in Christ tll Cor. 23145. As you leave DBC you can expect the prayers and interest of the faculty, staff, and your fellow students to go with you. May the Lord of Hosts protect and guide you in your life for Him.
