Standing: Comly Stover, William Martin, Horace Carter, Leighton Fisher, James Brooks, Ryland Stock, Charles Rich. Not in picture: Eileen Jamison, Russell Gearhart About five years ago, the school boards of three school districts-Ivyland, Upper Southampton, and Warminster-recognized the need for greater high school facilities to meet the requirements of the ever-growing population in this area. They merged to form the Centennial joint School Board which carefully studied the situation, then laid the plans for William Tennent High School. We owe a great deal to these men and women, who are elected to the school board by the people of their districts, and who serve without pay to operate and establish policies for our schools. On May 8, 1952, the three individual school boards appointed five members to a Centennial joint School Board Author- ity: one member from Ivyland, two from Upper Southampton, and two from Wair- minster. The Authority was formed to assist the School Board in financing the new building W William Tennent High School. Seated: Frank Gallagher, Irvin Slight, Chairman: Charles Krewson. Standing: E. Earle Sinkler, Peter Platten, Counsel. Missing: William Rahill.

Students who have successfully completed twelve years of educational require- ments as prescribed by the School Board receive their diplomas and leave our local schools to take up other work or to further their education. Each year, we, as members of the staff, feel we are about to lose close contact with many friends. We know that you should leave, but always feel bad to see you go. We all become part of each other and become inter-related in our activities, and it always seems that part of us goes with you while you leave part of yourselves here with us. You represent the first graduatrng class of William Tennent High School and as such wrll always haxe that distinction To you we extend our best wishes for success and good fortune We pray you will all live good lives and fruitful ones We hope you will all be good citizens in this country that, by its very strength has given you your education and by your use of this education will retain its strength Good luck and best wishes THE STAFF ff' v D .1 4,0 g 1- ..0lf,' u. 15- u ,:.. s.
