Because of The assisfance whicch VQG feel has perhaps noT been adequafely acknowle ge , The Class of '52 grafefully dedicafes This yearbook To her. Miss Wood knows These colleges well. She aTTended William SmiTh for a year, Then Trans- ferred To Albrighf Arf School. She has also sfudied aT Buffalo Universify, and aT Columbia. She Taughf sailors engineering drawing when The V-I2 UniT was aT T-lobarf in I943, and has been on The sfaff ever since. Chrisfopher, Miss Wood's.black caf, is a per- sonaliTy around campus. Though few sTudenTs have acfually had The pleasure of meeTing This animal, we have all heard of him, and of Miss Wood's love of animals. She is, as she says, A pushover for caTs, buT she likes dogs, Too. lT's iusf ThaT you have To walk a dog all The Time, she explained, and a caT doesn'T need ThaT, much aTTenTion. Besides, dogs oughf To 'be-allowed To run free. Everyone has seen The beaufiful shields which Miss Wood designed for The audiTorium in Coxe l-lall. These shields include Those of bofh colleges, of The differenf deparfmenfs, of The school, and of famous people who have been connecfed wiTh and advised l-lobarT and William SmiTh in The pasf. Many of These were designed -by Miss' Wood herself, ofherg are Tradifional. This underfaking Took nearly Six monfhs To compleTe', and has added To The appear- ance of The audiTorium. The panels in The Reredos behind The alTar of The chapel are anofher example of Miss Wood's arTisTry. These panels repregenl prayer and praise, by The censer and The TrumpeT, and uTilize many oTher symbols which sTudenTs of her Chrisfian Symbolism course should recognize, These panels are original works, using The symbols of The church. l-lobarf and William SmiTh are noT The only places which appreciaTe Miss Wood's arT. The Museum of Modern Arf in New York purchased one of her efchings, and she had a one-man show af The Ken- nedy Gallerylin New York. She has had work appearing in oTher exhibifions, and has also done free lance work. l-ler Talenf is a necessify in The planning of The arf work of The Pine. Miss Wood doesn'T like oafmeal, snakes or winTer. She likes The ocean, and would prefer To live There, Though she loves Geneva, Too-excepT when cars wiThouT mufflers go roaring down The sTreeT in fronf of her house. She enjoys good music as much as she enjoys good painfing. She is espe- cially fond of Mozarf.
