KaThy Wood was a wonderflll Big SisTer To our class, and all oT us were anXlOUS To- meeT our own big sisTers, aTTer we'd been wriTing To Them all summer. All Too soon The upperclassmen invaded our paradise wiTh Their Talk oT socials and guieT hours and answer The Telephone, FRESHIVTENV' We began planning Tor our TirsT Spring Week- end aT The end oT November and iT cerTainly lived up To all our expecTaTions when The big day Tinally came. Tired buT happy, on Sunday evening we're glad we s+ilI have Three more To look Torward To. M Then The day we made seniors sTand up Tor us and be in Their rooms aT seven ThirTy. We had To geT up aT Tour ThirTy in The morning in order To gain This privilege, along wiTh an exTra social. l-looray! We sang To all oT Them, and They re- sponded wiTh cookies, cigareTTes and oranges. Moving Up Day we puT on our whiTe dresses and became sophomores, pracTically. Freshman TundamenTals had TaughT us how To walk grace- Tully, while we marched inTo The Sunken Gardens aT l-loughTon, singing The FoundaTion l-lymn. Upperclassmen had Told us how lucky we were To have had The lnTer-house Sing in The Fall, and looking back on The acTiviTies during The Spring we're inclined To agree wiTh Them. Judy Hubbard was duly elecTed To serve as our presidenTg Beverly Baader and Sue Sullen- berger represenTed us on Council. Classes sTarTed wiTh Those bugaboos, physical science and HLA. PlaTo, ArisToTle, Ta.ciTus and The Greek dramaTisTs were all covered and more or less absorbed by our quesTing minds. lvlosT weeks we didn'T guesT enough, and iT's Too easy To Tall behind in WesTern Civ. readings. T News Exams in February had been a ThreaT, buf sTudying in June was even harder, we Tound. The Tennis cour'Ts, The lake, and long walks in The SUN were awfully TempTing, buT we did Try hard To keep quieT in The house when people were sTudY' ing. and we didn'T leT The warm Spring Wefilllel aTFecT us Too much. Exams over, summer vacaTion begins, and OUV TirsT year aT Willie SmiTh draws To an end. WG'V9 made our mark on The colleges, and now wel1GVe Three more years To go.
