In the thirt -one ears durin which he has Y Y S been connected with the Industrial course of VVilliam Penn, Mr. Hoffeditz has seen this department grow from its early beginnings in two rooms of the Duke Street building to its present status. Under his guidance the machine shops were geared to a strenuous wartime research and development pro- gram, and through his leadership the years of his supervision have seen constant ex- pansion and improvement in all activities of his department. On leaving our school, Mr, I-Ioffeditz ex- presses the wish for the continued progress of industrial education at IVilliam Penn, and the complete success of York High in all fields of endeavor. As we depart from the portals of IVilliam Penn together, we the class of ,49 pay our tribute to this leader whose progressive ap- proach to the problems of school life, combined with his sincere, unaffected rela- tionship with people have earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew and worked with him.
