To prophesy the future lives of nearly three hundred people is a task that would involve endless research. ill1llllllt'l'illb1B companionships and in- linitesimal patience and courage. There are worlds that have not yet been con- quered. It is up to you 211141 me to bring about their conditional surrender. We must put a plan into action that in the conquest of these will involve the talent. perseverance and tinesse of every in- dividual. be he architect. artist. aeronaut. explorer. historian. poet. engineer. actor. statesman. inventor. business n1an. teacher, scientist. or the plodding laborer. without whom the world cannot possibly exist. lt is for us to aspire to the highest position pos- sible. and having gained it to reinember that the man beneath is vitally important. Among our numbers there are 1na11y who claim a place in the separate delegation of each profes- sion. They choose these places with the whole- hearted faith that they a1'e right. I'pon these de- cisions we base our future hopes for a few of our classmates. lVishing to slight none. we will bear in miml the spirit of unity which binds us one to another. In a few decades we shall have spent our lives in earnest endeavor and we shall review our accom- plislnnents with enjoyment illlll some misgiving. For Bernard lientzel. who spent his young life in acquiring a strong mind for a strong body. the pages of memory shall llfillg back thoughts of headlines. streaming across city newspapers. which linked his name with that of John Frey, Richard Ilassler. and lVilliam Hannne. and proclaimed the starring athletes of the -l0's. To the Larsen sisters. smiling eyes and happy hearts shall bear living testimonials of the in- delinable good that they. jointedly. gave to the world. When the mystic light of understanding shines upon their way, their voices shall raise ill that song that praises God and lllilll. and they shall look back upon their lives a11d be happy. Amidst the revolving wheels. and racing ma- chinery. there will be a 11ote of brightness, and as the pages that are growing yellow are passed ove1'. smiles recorded there shall not have been few. To Donald Frey we sincerely dedicate the jour- nalistic fame which he shall have earned. In all parts of the nation shall be distributed the young men and women among our midst. who devoted their lives to the medical profession. and who sacrificed their time for the welfare of man. There may we tlnd among the millions. some name that carries ns back years. to a little institution. in a little city. where we mingled with those forming meteors of life. and where all of us received the golden key. inasmuch as we demanded it. to life. May all of us receive that golden key with reverence. for we shall never lose it in its entirety. and let it be a symbol to set up. after we have used it. for ourselves and for the weary traveler follow- ing in our footsteps.
