O oreojorcT Long before students from the junior high school are ready to enter Penn, one can hear them singing lustily: Dear William Penn and each one looks longingly to that time when he will proudly hail the blue and white and shout: We are the tigers! The mighty, mighty TIGERS! As we pause here, to reflect, it is easy to recall the many reasons why so many hold Penn so dear. There are helpful, understanding administrators; kind, interested, well- qualified teachers; a vast store-house of knowledge; many opportunities to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities; a vast array of experi- ences through which we are able to apply the knowledge gained; fellowship with students and teachers; hard work, delightful play. At times we have seemed unresponsive and unappreciative, but we were groping to find our way. We have learned our lessons well, adjustments have been made and we have been challenged to achieve higher standards. We shall always feel grateful to William Penn that we were privileged to have passed this way. 4

Dear William Penn, with voices ringing Sing we thy praises ever, Sing we thy praises and thy glory. Where ' er we go, what ' er we do, We ' ll always sing thy praises. Upon this hill we love so well, Moments happy have we spent. Yet light we ' ve gleamed, and light we ' ll carry. Where ' er we go, what ' er we do. Thy light we ' ll ever carry. To William Penn we pledge allegiance To cherish and defend her; To wave her colors high, and higher. Where ' er we go, what ' er we do. Her colors wave we higher. S. E. Burford 3
