96 Boys State And Girls, State Girls' State and Boys' State are ten- day courses in government procedures 011 the state, county and local levels. The first four days are devoted to the campaign and election of officials for various offices. The remainder of the time is spent in a mock society where everyone functions in an elected office or appointed job. The participants were chosen by the faculty and administra- tion on the basis of scholastic achieve- ment, moral character, and interest in American government. Girls' State was held at Capital Univ. Nicci Weisman served as a Clerk of Courts. Nancy Federle was elected to City Council and was chosen as one of twenty girls to perform at the annual Girls' State Talent Show. Boys' State was held at Ashland University. Roger Bell served as a lawyer and an assistant city solicitor. Ed Wilson worked in the loan office of a bank and also served as a part-time lawyer. Mike Quackenbush was elected a County Treasurer and received an award for his outstanding service. Susan Knoop and Bob Christianson were chosen as alternates. Susan Knoop, Nicci Weisman, and Nancy Federle. Ed Wilson, Roger Bell, Mike Quackenbush, and Bob Christianson.
