Student Council Representstive, Jim Girton, presents a plague to Mr. and Mrs. French, the Ideal Fans of 1972. Parents return to their seats after the special half-time ceremony. 146

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1971 SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21 971 From their graveyard on the hill, the dead citizens of Spoon River tell the truth about themselves. The Senior Class realisti- cally portrayed the anguish. guilt, pain and happiness in the lives of these midwestern townsfolk. The secrets of the town are revealed in Edgar Lee Masters's Spoon River Anthology. Departing from the traditional comedy, the cast rehearsed long and hard to give an excellent production of this moving drama. g. Gambler Tom Beatty tEd Wilsont gives his nonchalant philosophy of life to an audience mad, of over 200 on opening night. Maria Luiza Goncalves de Carvalho tbetter knOWH as Lut was William Mason's second foreign exchange student. Arriving December 19, 1971, from Sao Paulo, Brazil she spent ten weeks of her summer in a completely new and different environment. Wearing the sweater which the Language Club presented to her, Lu explains about Brazil and later shares some Brazilian music. Lu's first snow! EL Brazilian high schools do not teach typing . so for Lu typing was a new experience. Lu boards plane for flight home Chow . x 147
