Varsity Baseball The 1972 Varsity Baseball Team had a good season this year, ending up with a . 8-4 record. The team tied with Blanches- tar as co-champs of the F. A. V. C. The team had a rather short season and few home games due to the spring rains and a wet and muddy home field. Greg Meibers led the Comets in hitting with a . 441 average and a . 363 batting avg. over a four-year career. Randy Andrews ,- won 5 and lost 1 and pitched the Comets to a co-championship. Wrestling Team Under the coaching of Mr. Russ Hutch- ins, the wrestling team in its first year of competition showed healthy potential. The team's record of 3 wins and 6 losses left much to be desired, but there were several outstanding individuals. Senior Steve Burg- wrestlinginthe 167-1b. class carried an 8-1 record for the year. Senior Bill Pugh, in the 155-1b. class, ended the season With a 7-2 record. Junior Gary Baker, in the 126-1b. class witharecord of Swins and 1 loss, won a seat in District Competition.
