Varsity Baseball The 1972 Varsity Baseball Team had a good season this year, ending up with a . 8-4 record. The team tied with Blanches- tar as co-champs of the F. A. V. C. The team had a rather short season and few home games due to the spring rains and a wet and muddy home field. Greg Meibers led the Comets in hitting with a . 441 average and a . 363 batting avg. over a four-year career. Randy Andrews ,- won 5 and lost 1 and pitched the Comets to a co-championship. Golf Team I II The Comet Golf Team finished the season with a 14-1 record. Along with capturing first place at the Edgewood Golf Invitational, the Comets took second place in the F ort Ancient Valley Conference. On May 5, 1972, Mike Hunt, Jeff Winston, Jim Singer, Mark 2 Singer, and Mr. Forth traveled to Edgewood High School-to com- pate in the Cougars' Golf Invitational.
