IT ISN'T THE BLOWS YOU DEAL BUT THE BLOWS YOU TAKE ON THIS GOOD OLD EARTH, THAT SHOW IF YOUR STUFF IS REAL. The pictures no photographer can take, the paint- ings no artist can draw is probably the story we wish to tell:---the tests of everyday life in our school which attempt to teach reSpect for personal character and knowledge; sense of justice and common sense; keen- ness and forethought; readiness to share hardships; cheerfulness in face of difficulties and pride. In the days to come, while thumbing the pages of this book think on these things.

You have shown unending concern for us as a class and a genuine interest in us as individuals. You have rewarded us where reward was due, and scolded us Where scolding was due.
