I hear the cold wind howling, As it chases itself through the n And the rain keeps pounding 'Gainst my window pane, Trying with all its might To enter and be with me, ight. To stay with my friend, the fire. To break through the bonds That keep it out,' Yet will it never tire Of pounding? As I look up at the high windo There are no stars to be seen. The sky is so clouded and dark, It would seem As' if they had never been. Yet still the wind Keeps on shrieking, .find rattling my door to get in. .find my fire Snaps back its defiance. Who will win, My fire? Or the wind? But now, The rain ceases its pounding. flnd the wind its shrieking Does still.
