Iff fu ure s s notm In which we, the youth of 1950, will play an important part. The year 1950 itself causes us to Yonifcler boi)4 thfe future, mostly because this year marks the half of the 20th century. The great strides being made iry try tispyrta ion, communication, astronomy, medicine and many other scientific and domestic fields are enough Ao mywce jyoyr mind whirl. They make us wonder what the future will unfold before us. Perhaps rocket ships to tl» moy5n,y e cures for the terrifying diseases of today, and who knows, maybe even jet propelled street cars. r There is aJiq Ht mediate future, the future of Stephens graduates at Poly, Wilson, Jordan, St. Anthony and ..e success or failure of these students in high school will be reflected in achievements in per- sonality, character and the ability to face problems. The 1950 Scroll is dedicated to the future, both immediate and distant. It is dedicated to the youth who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

The members of the leadership class have guided S+epheni+es through the year 1949-50. They have aided in the sales of fhe Chatterbox and Scroll. They have sponsored clean-up campaigns and the Gold Rush Day. They have given their suggestions for the student body store, the flag-raising ceremony, pictures for the rooms and other school proj- ects. These leaders have kept the students posted on all of the school affairs. Not only have these people been outstanding in their work at Stephens, but they also show promise of being our leaders of the future.
