R ,A fL4fm,f,fv 1,11 -5 Ny THE 1953 MQ IQ I9 N A A? WILLIAM KING HIGH SCHOOL Abd V I As we the Midget staff of 1953 present this annual to you, our students and our friends, it is with pride in having accomplished what many thought to be impossible. This, William King's first Annual in ten years, has as its purpose the -presenting of a cross section of life in our high school, in class and in social and athletic events. It is with deepest pleasure that we present to you the Midget for 1953. M . Not often in a lifetime does a person meet anyone as energetic as Mr. Charles L. Jennings, Principal of William King High School. His chief aim in life seems to be to accomplish all that is humanly possible for one school executive to do. While working toward that goal, Mr. Jen- nings does not forget the individuals with whom he is dealing and cares for the needs and interests of all. Scholarly, neat, polite and friendly, outstanding as a Christian gentleman and worker--such is he, therefore, it gives the staff great pleasure to dedicate the 1953 MIDGET to Mr. Charles L. Jennings, Principal of William King High School. M lf. ,--4.5. N-. N - 7' sri? M gi -, SUPERINTENDENT I I K. P. The Midgets took the Championship by winning nine out of ten scheduled games. The only loss was to Marion, by a score of 7 to 6. This great achievement in football is attributed to the inte rest they took in play- ing football. In many of the games we were behind, but the boys just wouldn't give up. I-Ialfback Sam Woolwine, a senior, made a record by scoring 133 points in regular season play. The boys that will be lost this year are: in the backfield: Hinchey, Woolwine,Hutton, and McConnell.
