Student Court The Student Court was established two years ago to help cope with the increasing campus parking problem. Student Government The Student Senate is the legislative branch of the Student Government. lt is responsible for coordinating student activities and for providing an organized means for working out the problems of the Student Body. It also represents the Admin- istration in various areas of college life. The various activities of the Senate are carried on through a system of committees composed of Senate members and Administrative committees composed of stu- dents who are not members of the Senate. The Legislative committees include committees on chapel, elections, freshman orientation, student affairs, Board of Control, and the National Student Association. The Administrative committees func- tion in four areas: school spirit, public relations, campus grounds, and the calendar. The Committees are coordinated by the Student Body President with the assistance of the Cabinet, which is com- posed of two Senators appointed by the Student Body President with the approval of the Senate. Melrose House Council The Melrose House Council consists of girls representing the dormitory, working together for unity in college living. They are: Carol Ann Carter, president, Marian Gillenwaterg Nancy DuBois, Pat Kelly, Alyce Canning, Nina Faye Cox, Carolyn Beckenmeyer. New Dorm House Council The New Dormitory House Council is composed of individual members from each wing, establishing a student government of the New Dorm to meet any problems arising.
