Harrisorfs excellent language department, under the direction 0. Wenner, helped students, Whethe or not, reinforce their abilities in E communication. This department in both English and foreign langl The language department also provided the op- portunity to master foreign languages. Up to four full years of study were available in German, French, Latin, and Spanish. Foreign language study was also furthered through the use of the modern language lab, the only one of its kind in Evansville. History, Science, and Math . . . Progress --- That Most Important Product Harrison,s science department provided students with an opportunity to study Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Advanced courses in Chemistry and Biology were opened to students Who wished to further their knowledge in these subjects. The name social studies is generally applied to the history department for the term includes much more than history. In addition to World and U. S. History, the department offered International Relations, American Problems, and Psychology. The mathematics department which this year experimented with Programmed Algebra, offered a well rounded program ranging from Arithmetic to Analytic Geometry.
