SCHOOL SUPPORTEFQS VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS - Dr. Allan School has organized a committee here at Taft and has written a grant proposal for a class that would benefit students with talent in the visual and perform- ing arts. The proposal has been approved, and Area IO has given us a grant of S4,w0. This class will be used as a pilot class for the entire LAUSD. This program will include researching topics involv- ing the general theme of LA's Bicentennial, then transforming this information into scripts for t.v. production. Some samples themes are The impact of movies and t.v. on LA , LA's Intercul- tural Heritage, and How international foods relate to LA .
