Sandwiched between the two others, the Juniors strive for recog- nition. But everyone survives that year thanks to the Junior Steering Committee. This club of innovative leaders steer their class through the middle year blues by planning fun raising and fund raising events. The meetings are conducted during lunch and open to any Junior who wishes to contribute ideas, meet new people and have fun. The young group faced the task of leading the sophomores into the produc- tive and spirited three years that lie ahead. The Steering Committee started by informing the IOth graders of the opportunities at Taft, while raising school spirit at the same time. The group also tackled the plaguing problem of reducing the Prom price by planning early fund raisers. But the most critical decision was to pick the class mascot and colors. As the year trailed on, the Committee gained support while its goals were accomplished. This group is still growing and becoming one of the most enthusiastic groups on campus.
