CHCIR ENSEMBLE This group of enthusiastic and talented singers practice all year. Much of that time is spent preparing for their presentation of a Broadway Musical. lt is a lot of work as Mr. Kursinski will admit, but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. Singing Christmas carols around school is something that l'll never forget. - -Angela Chang CHOIR- Front Row. Debbie Kamsen, Kathy Anderson, Anna Navardes, Angela Chang, Adrienne Henderson, Susan Coleman, Renee Dupree, Jill Sherman, Mr. Robert Kursinski CSponsorD. Row 2. Debbra Greene, Monica Slon, Judy Sherman, Carmen Lane, Adina Book, Mimi Mandell, Pamela Davis, Karen Godesoff, Corey Long, Robert Greene. Row 3: Janet Kaiden, Missy Gillette, Julie Rahtz, Coral Hill, Debra Smith, Wendall Haynes, Robert Cavallo, Mike Landon. Row 4: Alexis Thompson, Anna Storer, Karrie Madsen, Ingrid Congleton, Toni Mitchell, James Perlman, Otis Monroe, Cheryl Romer, James Allen, Mark Raider. They are easy to hear since they have beautiful voices. They are easy to find since they perform in colorful red outfits. And they work very hard, they are one of the few groups that meets daily as a class during lunch. They are hard to miss since they sing at all of Taft's concerts, local churches and the Promenade Shopping Mall. They perform mock concerts, madrigals, and sing Christmas carols. Ensem- ble is the name of this inspira- tional group. I enjoy Ensemble because it gives me the opportunity to sing and perform as a member of a small group. -Hilary Mandel ENSEMBLE- Front Row: Mike Landon, Cathy Anderson, Janet Kaiden, Adina Book, Monica Slon, Row 2: Danny Raider, Hilary Mandel, Carmen Lane, Bobby Green, Row 3: Mark Raider, Cheryl Romer, Chris Brecker, Judy Sherman, Corey Long. POWDER PLIFF FOOTBALL It is that special time of year when the football season has just ended but the cheering crowds still want some action. The cheerleaders have just about jumped their socks off, yet they are not ready to turn in their pom-poms. And those football players are just about worn out and waiting for some fun. So, it's Powder Puff football time. The battle between the junior gals and the senior girls was one giant step for women's lib, and one giant step backward for women's athletics. Following a most difficult game, the seniors triumphed, I4-O. Fortunately for the players, as well as the spectators, those skirted wonders put on an awesome exhibit. The enthusiastic cheerleaders, especially selected for this contest, sang, danced and yelled. It feels good to be sexy and show off our legs. -Jeff Bille Seniors shake the best. -Camilla Brown lf football players got their choice of cheerleaders, I'd take Ray Shargelf' -Valerie Vitto The cheerleaders are disgusting and crude, but l love theml -Dywana Boutte Obnoxious and disgusting-and a blast. -Dana Budoff doff lt's like being at Chippendale's. -Simone Van Egmond mond These guys must have a secret desire to dress like girls. Well, why not? Some of them make excellent cheerleaders. -Milissa Lambert It was a happening for sure. A once-a- year big deal to promote school spirit and have some fun. There they were Deb- bie, Laura and Isabel. Also, .leff and Andy. Coaching were Cliff, Robert and Rich, with Joe doing the play-by-play. There were many others, too. Both teams prac- ticed at lunch and after school for this annual game. ln the end, though, the final score was unimportant. The big win- ner, after all, was school spirit. f - ffm f f' . l X Z H V g' -. 149 I
