Behind, in front of, on the bottom, and on top of those instru- ments and sounds are 64 legs, 64 arms, 64 eyes, 64 ears, 32 heads, and 32 throats. The 64 legs march to the beat, the 64 arms hold odd-shaped instruments, the 64 eyes read music charts, the 64 ears listen to sounds, and 32 throats cheer and yell. The 64 legs have 640 toes Cwe thinkb, the 64 arms have 640 fingers Qwe hopeb, the 32 heads have 64 eyes Cglasses ex- cludedj, and 64 ears. In perfect stride, marching into the stadium, is the Taft Marching Band. All 64 legs, 64 arms, 32 heads, 64 eyes, 64 ears, and 32 throats. All playing 76 Trombones. FLAG TEAM The rah-rah sis boom-bah cheer has gone the way of the beaver coat, nick- el beer, the Charleston, and dull half- time shows at football games. Instead. in came flag tricks, marching bands, drill teams, yells with social and moral significance, new wave dancing, and dazzling halftime displays that are as exciting as the game itself. Taft is no exception. The Flag Team and Drill Team are examples of the modern football spectacle. There's more to a football game today than a football game. Fans at Taft games are used to dazzling exhibitions by our 8-member Flag Team and the perfect precision of the Toreador Drill Team.
