Her loyalty is steadfast, her job performance is incredible! Taft owes her a tremendous debt of gratitude! I do too- and I love her! -Elizabeth Goetten -First Taft Principal Bert IVlarqusee's tact, sense of humor, gentle- ness, and ability to work with all people easily qualify her for the permanent position of Sec- retary of the Decade . During the eight years I worked with this very wonderful person, I remember no incicent or event that she did not handle with complete success. Taft High will never be the same without her. -Dr. Edwin Olmstead -Second Taft Principal Bert llllarqusee is not just a good secretary-she's a superb secretary. She represents the ultimate in her profession. She does her work so well that it makes her principal's work easy. Her good disposition, her smile, her promptness, her proficiency, her pride in and willingness to work at her job is the legacy she leaves behind. One can only wish her happiness and success in her retirement. Bert, I can only say that without you, my job would have been harder, my learning period longer and my frustation greater. You will be sorely missed. From the gal who shrinks boundaries And budgets and heads 'All hail and farewell to our gorgeous Queen Bee, Our affable, lovable, Bert lVIarqusee, -lVlarjorie Bruce -Retired Teacher Bert, without a doubt, is the finest school secretary in L.A.U.S.D. She is personable, efficient, and kind. l'm delighted to be numbered among her friends. -Art Curtis -Former Boys' Vice-Principal Bert IVIarqusee has been one of the key figures in giving to Taft a special working atmosphere of friendly' cooperation. She is blessed with a keen sense of humor and a wealth of clever ideas. She will be missed. -IVlarion Fox -Retired Librarian Socrates said, Leisure is the best of all possessions and lVIrs. lVIarqusee deserves the best. During her years at Taft she has been a great inspiration to her co-workers and associates. Fond memories will be shared by all. -Peggy Voyde -Retired Clerk Old secretaries never die, they just become unprincipaled. -Ernie Pearl -Present English Teacher We would also like to acknowledge the retire- ment of lVlrs. Jones, who has been Taft's text- book clerk for the past three and one half years . She plans to try her best to rest, and travel. We also say goodbye to IVlrs. Goshay, who has been a library clerk for more than twenty two years. She plans to ride her bicycle, clean her house, and do clerical work. We wish you all lasting happiness. 171
