facw FIeming's twenty-fifth year, as the preceding ones, has been led by an able administration. Over the twenty-five year period, three persons have held the rank of principal, namely, Mr. R. Douglas Nininger, l933-43, Mrs. Elizabeth Powell, i943-46, and our present principal, Mr. Albert Coulter, who came to his position in the fall of l946. Mr. Paul Foster is our assistant principal and Mr. CouIter's right-hand man , handling daily problems with quiet efficiency. Without the talents of these men and our entire faculty, Fleming would perish. Each administrator and teacher in his own way guides and helps us in our efforts to become better citizens. With their continued efforts, Fleming can only go forward.

semi ayym iafh iaaae and play My candle burns at both ends: It will not last the nightp But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends- lt gives a lovely light. There are times when we feel with Edna St. Vincent Millay that this is the way that our candle burns, for both Fleming days and nights teem with activity. Classes follow one another in quick succes- sion, but they are only one segment of our school life. Problems, of course, arise, and we drop into the Guidance Office for help and advice. Then we dash into the library, for the next book report is due, or we must find material for that research paper. We often have to squeeze ci play rehearsal between a committee meeting and an early evening hop. We sing with the choir, march with the band or paint with the art club according to our talents or in- clinations. Thus our life at Fleming flows from autumn to winter, from winter to spring. Another year's end brings us to graduation, speeches, fare- wells. We can truly say that our candle had given a lovely light. aaa ZeaJea4 Led by the cheerleaders, the student body yells for Fleming. Mrs. Virginia Kirkwood and Mrs. Rebecca Anderson help guide us in best planning our schedule. The Physics class seems interested in the mechanics of a vacuum pump.
