ful When our brief sojourn at William Fleming is a thing of the past, it is our hope that you may relive, by leahng through the Annual, the happy and friendly days of this year. The days of this year have been abundant in notable eventsfvsome joyful, some sad, some exciting, some glorious, and some serious. Not only are these days important because of their meaning today, but for their meaning in days to come. XVe have arranged the sections of the annual to coincide, as near as possible, with the time period having the most prominent dates relating to that section- The Administration with the beginning of schoolffAthletics with the time of District 6 Football Championship-Classes with the time of mid-term tests- Activities with the time of outings and social eventsfand Advertisements, which help to make the yearbook possible, to close the book. A calendar distinguishes important or otherwise memorable days from the others by red print or some other contrasting means. Therefore, to immortalize the days and events of this school year, We have chosen as the theme of this year- book, Red-letter days of 1952-53.H www MBL, ' Aiwa' J ML M 27cg1,,,9'-343', if W' mgtql

Photographic Admxor ju BOXVER , liach year the student body awaits anxiously for the annual and expects a better one than the year before. We, the Annual Staff of I953, sincerely hope we have met these expectations and that this yearbook will be a book treasured for life. Editing and publishing the COLONEL is a job of hard and constant work offset by the fun we have working together in class and on our yearly outing. The first jobs are those of advertisement solicitation, subscription drive, and picture taking. Then follow the organ- izing of the book, the compiling of copy, the arranging of pictures, and the deciding of many problems. Some of the work is done with the help and cooperation of other students but the major part is done behind closed doors so that the content and design of the annual are a complete surprise to the students. Now we can sit back and enjoy, as we are sure you will, the Fmished product of our labor. Look at it, read it, enjoy itg both today and in days to come.
