Qehbabbn To the sponsors of Tm: COLONEL, Nlrs. Mason, hflrs. Young and Miss James, who have been patient in service, eager in interest, unfaltering in sympathy, unstinting in their generosity of time and labor, who, through their unswerving efforts, have made this First peaceful year one of enjoyment and inspiration for us, we, the Senior Class, do gratefully and affectionately dedicate this 1946 issue of 'lllIE COLONEL.

The 1946 Colonel . . . Hiwewafzff For the past few years, war and smashing world events have been the things we'vc talked about, read about, and written about. Consequently, in previous years Annual themes have dealt with relative subjects. Now, with the return of peace and the beginning of the establishment of good will all over the world, we can once again turn our thoughts to the little things we knew and loved before the terrible international conflict. Recognizing this, we, of the 1946 Annual Staff, have chosen a comparatively simple subject, School Activitiesf' as our theme. lVe think it is more than fitting at the present time, for upon our shoulders falls the responsibility of build- ing a bright, new world. The training we receive in the classroom, and the tolerance we learn through student government and clubs, the respect with which we treat our teachers and fellow students, all prepare us to meet our obligations in later life. We sincerely hope, as you turn these pages now, and in years to come, that they will strike a familiar note and bring to mind all the unforgettable experiences that make high school years wonderful years.
