People are indlvlduals, separate per- sonalities, each as different from the other as each crystalized form of a snowflake. Although different, they are also alike. Born with many emotions that are given the chance to develop with time, some people are closely related In ideas and feelings. People have the ability to care for other people and our world, to enjoy life, to rebel against the wrongs of society. to destroy life and material matter and to work towards their goals. Education provides the op- portunity to grow in each of these facets of life. Students at school have many opportunities to show the way they feel. Learning to live together in the world, PEOPLE CARE about other people: being willing to help someone with a problem, to give a little of their time, to let someone know they are behind them. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong, peo- ple go ahead and do what they want to do. Students, sometimes frustrated and disillusion- ed with arbitrary rules thrust at them, resist the rules to let other people see their beliefs. for important causes, but sometimes defy authority only to be defiant. Some students feel they should not have to obey the rules given them, so they totally ignore these rules. Although rebellion can be used for positive results, some people rebel because it is the only opportunity they have to be acknowledg- ed. Not always perfect, people are still impor- tant to the world.
