Mr. Louis Mannen Q i l l .. 4 x. Administrators and Mr. Louis Mannen, principal of Palmer iunior high school, is officiating for the first time in this position. He has served as vice-principal for eleven years. Under his leadership, Palmer ninth grade student council members cooperated with the personnel of the United Fund during the T963 campaign, Their work was affiliated with the student body. In furthering interest in educational and per- sonal welfare, Mr. Mannen encouraged the student council to spend much time with problems concerning the entire stu- dent body. Three outstanding problems were proper dress, sportsmanship and student activities. The freshman vocal and instrumental groups gained performing status and competed with other schools. Mr. Mannen and Mr. Moore coordinated the physical edu- cation program with the sports program of division ll by sched- uling Palmer ninth grade boys in sports during the sixth hour. This made it possible for these boys to participate with the division ll football, basketball and track programs. Selected as vice-principal of Palmer iunior high school, Mr. Jerry Moore assumed his responsibility July l, l963. Mr. Moore's teaching experience began at division ll. He taught mathematics there for one year. He was a member of the division l faculty in the mathematics department for four years. Mountain Grove, Missouri was his birthplace and his early home. He attended both elementary and high school there. In the pursuit of higher education Mr. Moore went on to attain a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics from Southwest Missouri state college at Springfield.
