Becky Deakle and Karyn Currie, enjoy talking with a prospective student. They also enjoy helping the SGA to encourage new people to attend William Carey College. Miss William Carey College, Cindy Henderson, capti- vates her audience with several of her favorite songs on Prospective Student Day. Students gather around one of the many club exhibits. Many clubs set up booths showing the different activi- ties offered by William Carey College. Prospective Student Day 29 ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN The coming of the new school year, brought new faces to our campus. With these faces came some new and exciting talent. Incoming and returning students displayed their talent in the Fall 1983 tal- ent show. The show was sponsored by the Student Government Association and Del- ta Omicron. Prizes ranged from $40.00, to a hand shake and a pat on the back. Two accidents waiting to happen, Carey Steele and Jeff Piselli perform their act and go on to win the Comedy Portion of the show. It ' s only a matter of time before we ' ll be asking for their autographs. Mitch Rayburn strums his guitar as he sings one of his favorite CAMPFIRE songs during the talent show. Besides playing the guitar, Mitch also composes many songs. Mike Hanniford strains for a high note as he sings for the entertainment portion of the talent show. Mike served in many capacities in the music department. Barry Edwards shows his talent by singing one of his favorite songs for the show. Although he did not win, he strengthened the competition that much more. 30 Fall Talent Show iaiem- Bennie Simmons performed with his Num Chucks as his talent. SGA sponsored both a special Thanksgiving supper and Christ- mas supper. Entertainment was provided at the Thanicsgiving supper by the fall talent show winners, handbells, and the Chapel Choir. Madrigal members sang in Cloverleaf Mall advertising the annual Madrigal Din- ner. The Madrigal Dinner was December 1st. through 3rd, 1983. Members of the Music Department worked hard to perform a very successful Madrigal Dinner. Students found time between studying for finals to decorate the campus. Christ- mas cards and door decorations in the dorms gave the campus a spirit of Christ- mas warmth. Prizes were given for the best door decoration and for the best Christmas Card. It is important to remind ourselves at any time we are looking back: Life fronts us now. It is not behind us but before us. As you look ahead do so remembering the theme of the 1984 CRUSADER— On Top of Things. Perhaps your looking ahead can benefit from the fivefold resolution of Jonathan Edwards — namely: 1. To live with all my might while I do live 2. Never to lose a moment of time 3. Never to do anything which I would despise in another 4. Never to do anything out of revenge 5. Never to do anything which I would be afraid to do if it were the last hour of my life. Heeding these resolutions will most certainly assure you that through the days to come you will be ON TOP OF THINGS. Sincerely yours, J. I am with myself, I am with my friends. They make me laugh. Cry, Think, Wonder, and Do what I like best. They build me up. Let me down. Love me, Hate me. Listen and Talk.
