Miss Martha Ann Waller began her reign as 1978 Miss ( ' arey College February 7. by taking her traditional walk down the runway, her arms full of flowers, trophy and a seholarship certificate, and her crown slightly awrv. The pageant wa held in Thonia.- Hall Au litorium on the Carev Campus. First alternate was Miss Sanda Ged- die and second alternate was Miss Susan Clark. The top three winners presented vocal selections for their talent. Miss Suzanne Freeman, outgoing Miss Carey College, served as emcee through the evening. Guest entertainers were the Laurel High School Showstoppers and 1976 Miss Mississippi and Miss Carey College, Bobbye Wood. Virginia Scott was producer for the event; R(d)bie Pin- kerton was stage manager; Ronny Oswalt, Phillip For- tenberry and Tom Jacobs were musical directors. Others assisting were the WCC Trucking Company, which in- cluded Hazel Alfred, Mark Bailey, Debbie Ivy. Buddy Dismukes and Jayne Hansen. Judges wire Dr. Paul Anderson, James Cox. Patsv Puck- ctl (irav, Linda Magee and Stevens E. Moore Jr.
