The primary pur- pose of the college is to develop in the young person the ability to think soundly, to evaluate ideas, and to clearly express ideas orally and in writing. Carey seeks to expose weak and inconsistent principles. —SOCIAL COMPETENCE The small Christian college develops social skills — the art of conversation, the ability to talk in an easy and intelligent manner, appropriate dress, the ability to get along with all kinds of people. —PHYSICAL WELL-BEING Good health which issues in alertness and vitality is important for the growing young person. Carey boasts an excellent sports and health program. —SPIRITUAL VALUES Carey College is distinct m the emphasis given to the student ' s development of a Christian philosophy of life — his outlook upon the world, his attitudes, beliefs, and understandings. At Carey, the student is not only seek ing an understanding of his world but also an understanding of himself, and of his God. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is in the lap of today.
